Founded in 2008, Dykkeren began as the brainchild of three female divers who wanted to create graphic diving T-shirts—but without compromising on human or environmental ethics.

The name is Scandinavian in origin (*Dykkeren* means "diver" in Norwegian); although Bérangère, Carole, and Christine live in the Bordeaux region (South West of France), Scandinavia holds a special place in their hearts.
Passionate about every type of diving—recreational, marine biology, wreck, cave, and more—they come from a club background and are deeply involved in the diving federation. They hold various instructor certifications, ranging from club-level introductory instructors to professional instructors, always maintaining a broad perspective and looking beyond their immediate circle.

As female entrepreneurs, they were committed from the very start to prioritizing organic cotton, fair trade, and certified working conditions—championing these values at a time when the general public was only just beginning to discover them.
They are actively involved in ocean conservation (particularly shark protection) and locally in responsible consumption, having been members of the *La Place* former collective (Aquitaine Fair Trade Platform).
Dykkeren has been the Eco-Friendly Divewear brand since its inception in 2008.

With a focus on sophisticated graphic design and close partnerships with screen-printing workshops, the women behind Dykkeren have filled the brand’s history with meaningful human connections and imbued every design with a wealth of anecdotes.
They create designs that reflect the many facets of diving and have even collaborated on exclusive models with renowned figures such as Pascal Bernabé, Laurent Ballesta, Alban Michon, and Pierre-Eric Deseigne.
Today, Carole and Christine actively continue the journey, managing every aspect of the business—from graphic design and website maintenance to the hands-on sewing of labels. Dykkeren is a modest brand, yet proud of its path and forever driven by passion and commitment.
